Only one thing lasts forever

It's been a while since I blogged, but over the last couple months once thing is weighing more and more heavily on my heart... staying on coarse with the mission of Jesus, "to seek and save the lost".

Of all this created universe only one thing is eternal, PEOPLE. Only this one thing really matters.

So much time is spent on the accumulation and consumption of things that are temporary. We are so passionate and driven toward things that are, in the big picture, trivial and of little worth and value, while that which is most valuable is being missed and lost.

Jesus made it very clear that we were to follow his example. Jesus made it very clear that his true followers would be fulfilling the same call and mission that he came and started. Jesus made it clear that he came to establish his Lordship here on earth and that the true measure of Lordship in a persons life is measured by one thing, Obedience.

My prayer for my life and Open Arms is that we will stay on coarse focused and passionate for reaching the lost, rescuing those held captive by the enemy.

Being missional will help keep us from turning inward and devouring one another. Usually the biggest and meanest critics, those most condemning and judgemental, are those that are doing little to nothing for the mission.

Of coarse there are a few things we will need to do to be effective on this mission.

1. Pray, Pray, Pray (grow in our prayer life staying in constant communication with Headquarters and calling in support as well as getting directions). Remember, we cannot do this spiritual work with out the Holy Spirit!

2. Be disciplined in prepatory training ( Be dilegent to learn what the Bible says and put it into practice. Dilegently study the Bible to know how to answer people.)

3. Be faithful in living the life (obeying Jesus' commands in thought, word, and deed).

We all have family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, classmates, enemies, and so on that need Jesus. We don't know how much longer each of them has on this earth, so we need to get busy praying for them and reaching out to them faithfully, paitiently, passionately, and with love!
